Born out of a need for women to have a safe space to talk about things like finding work, managing clients, or what to charge, Freelancing Females has grown to over 300,000 members and is now the world's largest community of Freelancing women.
What started as a female entrepreneur community for support has now grown into a dynamic, inclusive hub for women and femme-presenting freelancers, giving them the resources they need to navigate freelancing on their own terms, whether that's financial education, access to new skills, valuable industry connections, or even just a judgment-free zone to vent.

2017
After dealing with the all too familiar freelance struggle of non-payment, our founder Tia starts a Facebook group for female freelancers to ask questions and get support. Within a month, the group is already at 500 members.

2019
Freelancing Females becomes the largest community of freelancing women in the world, with over 20,000 members, and it officially launches its website and job board.

After reaching 52,000 Facebook members, Freelancing Females is featured in Facebook’s 'Hall of Her' Women's History Month campaign in recognition of its impact on women, especially during the pandemic.

Freelancing Females now has over 230,000 followers on Instagram, 70,000 newsletter subscribers, and is recognized as one the biggest Women’s business communities in the freelancing space, empowering women in every aspect of their freelance journey, including education, networking, wellness, and, of course, community.

Freelancing Females was founded on the values of diversity, inclusion, and equity - with the goal of bringing all women and femme-presenting people together, in a community where they are safe to be themselves and valued for their authenticity. We believe that every freelancer, regardless of gender, race, or orientation, deserves fair and equal compensation for the amazing work they do, and we are dedicated to addressing this head-on.
We recognize a significant and persistent wage gap that exists, particularly for women in freelancing, and we are actively working to close this gap by championing rate transparency, encouraging honest conversation in our community on pay disparity or fair compensation, and we strive to make sure our community has access to credible, reliable and up to date financial education.

Meet Our Founder
Tia Meyers-Grado
Tia Meyers-Grado, our founder, knows the exact challenges that Freelancers face, because she’s dealt with them herself. After leaving the corporate world for freelancing, she faced the all-too-familiar freelance challenge - non-payment by a client.
Frustrated by the lack of resources, Tia became determined to create a safe space where women could get support, find jobs, share experiences, ask any question (no matter how specific)
Freelancing Females started as a small Facebook group but has grown today to a community of 300K women. Having been present in the community every day when it started, Tia still personally connects with members at least once in week, embodying everything Freelancing Females stands for; authenticity, genuine connections, and real support.
Today, Tia is still present in the community, as well as constantly striving to grow FF through mentorship, strategic partnerships, or advocating for financial freedom for women. When she’s not running the biggest freelancing community for women, Tia can be found hanging out with her dog Mango, exploring Austin, or, in true freelancer fashion, enjoying a coffee.

Part of our mission is to make sure women have access to reliable and credible educational resources. Our membership includes access to exclusive webinars, workshops, classes, and campaigns, and we also have free resources and guides on our blog, site, and newsletter.
Workshops & Coworking
We know freelancing can get lonely, and sometimes, monotonous. We organize and partner with exciting brands to create one-of-a-kind campaigns that offer women the chance to grow their networks, level up their skills, and make freelancer friends, whether that's IRL or online.
We also help connect members for coworking and coffee chats, so they can stay focused, bounce ideas off each other, and make friends who get what it's like to be a freelancer.
Jobs & Talent
Finding reliable jobs that value what you do is a challenge most freelancers face at some point, which is why we created our directory and job board, to connect amazing talent with amazing brands and businesses looking to hire.
Freelancers can showcase their skills in our directory, and be discovered by brands all over the world, while our job board makes life easier by giving freelancers a place to find their next client and for brands to get more eyes on job postings. (We also have a newsletter specifically for jobs, and an exclusive jobs channel for members in our Slack!)
